I never would have guessed that Columbia, California lay behind that door! Seriously, I like the photo very much.

@Earnest: We do have some old stuff here in California. Columbia is a working ghost town -- a state park that keeps some businesses there like a blacksmith etc for the tourists. And it's free of charge! I just went there again two days ago.
Long ago when I was working up the canyons of Utah we came across a ghost town far up in a canyon. There were small decrepit one-room shacks scattered all over the canyon floor where it had opened up a bit. The main feature was a huge two-story house that may have been a hotel and/or a house of ill repute... I never got to stop there and look around... It haunts me to this day. It was obviously some kind of mining operation at one time but I don't know what they were mining. It could have been as simple as coal or even uranium... I guess I'll never know. I think spending a night there might have been an awesome experience!

@Earnest: My favorite ghost town is Bodie California. I have two photos posted of this under the tag bodie. It is a photographer's dream. I have hundreds of pictures from there from over 20 years of taking photos there. I first went in the 70's as a kid. You can't spend the night though.
